Description
It was a Cinderella love story where the diamond-in-the-ruff beauty, Lucretia Hughes (aka Cree) was swooned by a consummate high value man in Russ Rutledge. Cree, in turn, sacrificed her singing career and bet on love. Fast forward a decade, the marriage is passionless, Russ refuses to even touch her, and Cree doesn't even know who she is anymore. But then she adds new meaning to the term "finding yourself" when she has a miraculous encounter with a parallel-world, unmarried version of herself who had taken a crucial fork in the road a decade ago; instead of focusing on love, she had focused on herself.
In the other world Lucretia seems to be doing just fine without her high value man. She'd amassed wealth on her own as a Grammy nominated singer with the stage name Lulu McQueen; however, Lulu has a problem - a problem she can only solve by temporarily trading places with Cree, the wife.
Cree agrees to trade places, becomes instantly famous and finds herself, ironically, entangled in a steamy affair with the other world's bachelor version of her husband, who happens to be engaged to someone he doesn't love. This is the least of Cree's problems, though, as she discovers the real reason why Lulu was so desperate to trade places.
In this magical thriller, Cree must risk it all, along a journey of self-discovery while evading kidnappers and tracking down the one person who could help her reclaim her life. Cree has no choice but to enlist the help of a few colorful and opportunistic characters who seem likely to double-cross her in the end.
